TRUTH MATTERS.

One Catholic man’s view of faith, life, and abortion.

Why This Site Exists

If you’ve made your way to this website, there are only a few reasons you are here.  One is, you met me, heard about me, know me, or used to know me, and you Googled me to find out a little more. If that’s the reason, it’s good to “see” you, and welcome!

Another possibility is, you are interested in some of the things I am interested in, and, somehow, wound your way here.  If that’s the reason, welcome, and it’s nice to “meet” you.

A third possibility is, you are here by mistake.  If that’s the reason, I hope you’ll poke around a little, and maybe even let me know what you think.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad you’re here.  This website is hardly earth-shattering, world famous, or, really, anything other than some personal musings on topics that interest me. I am a grateful and humble Catholic, and I believe that the Church is true.  Thus, I believe everything the Church teaches, and I try to live my life in accord with Church teaching. Therefore, this site will mainly consist of my comments, observations, and opinions on my faith.

Some things here will not be, um, “politically correct.” I believe that truth exists, and that truth matters.  If society, for whatever reason, wants to go in a direction that is against the truth, that doesn’t change the truth. For example, if I decided that I no longer liked the law of gravity, and if I then climbed onto my roof and stepped off while saying, “I deny that gravity exists or it applies to me,” I would fairly quickly find out that my desire and belief didn’t change a thing.

Similarly, let’s say that I find it unfair and discriminatory that men cannot have babies. So, I rally some politicians to introduce legislation to make men equal to women when it comes to giving birth. Even if they passed that law, it would not change the fact that men can’t have babies. And even if the Supreme Court found the law constitutional and valid, it would not change the fact that men can’t have babies.

When perusing this site, there is one more thing you should know (that is, if you don’t know me and don’t already know it): My personality tends toward sarcasm, humor, satire, and irreverence. It’s possible, or perhaps even likely, that you may find something here to be, in your opinion, wrong, unkind, or even mean-spirited. If so, please know that my comments are meant to be, well, sarcastic or humorous or irreverent. I hate nobody, and mean no disrespect or hurt to anyone. Remember, the written word is one-dimensional. So, if you are offended, please take a deep breath and lighten up a little. Please also know that I acknowledge anyone’s right to have an opinion different than mine, and to believe whatever they want. There is, however, one condition: they must acknowledge that I have the same right. Does that sound fair?

So there. Enjoy the site, and please don’t be afraid to email me.  I read every email, and respond to every one, so long as it is civil. God bless you!
